Following a problem encountered at a customers, I’m sharing with you my findings. When you activate folder redirections (documents,…), an offline synchronization is activated. If you subsequently change the path of the redirection, it is possible that some profiles do not migrate to the new path and keep in the synchronization management console the old path in addition to the new one.

Thus, it is possible that some users may no longer be able to access the data contained in the redirected folder. To overcome this problem, it is necessary with administrator rights to reset the CSC database. The files available offline are deleted.

To perform this operation, simply create a DWORD named FormatDatabase with a valule of 1. This operation of creation, must be done in the key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Csc\Parameters

After modification of the registry key, restart your computer and configure folder synchronization.
